1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using the scanclar mobile application ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. What scanclar does

scanclar lets you photograph official letters and documents and receive an automatically generated, plain-language summary intended to help you understand the document's meaning and possible next steps.

scanclar is not legal, tax, or immigration advice. The summaries are generated automatically and may contain mistakes or omissions. Always verify important matters with a qualified professional or a trusted local organization. See our full Disclaimer.

3. Subscriptions and billing

scanclar offers a Free plan and paid Plus / Premium subscription plans.
Paid subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, using the payment method on file with your Apple ID or Google account.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings - we cannot process cancellations directly.
Prices may change; we will provide notice as required by Apple/Google policies before any change takes effect for existing subscribers.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the App for any unlawful purpose; attempt to interfere with or disrupt the App or its backend systems; upload content you do not have the right to share; or attempt to reverse-engineer the App beyond what is permitted by law.

5. Intellectual property

The App, its design, logo, and underlying technology are owned by us or our licensors. Your use of the App does not grant you any ownership rights in it.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that summaries will be accurate, complete, or error-free, or that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, scanclar and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from decisions made in reliance on a summary generated by the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these terms. You may stop using the App and cancel your subscription at any time.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where our company is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
